Study Music Tech was formed by James Reevell in 2015. It brings together his work as an examiner, trainer and author and is designed to support both teachers and students in their work on the Edexcel A Level Music Technology course.
James is an experienced teacher of Music and Music Technology, and is currently Subject Leader for Visual and Creative Arts at a sixth form college in the North West of England. As part of this role he is responsible for the leadership and management of both Music courses, Art, Drama and Dance.
He has recent and extensive examining and assessment experience in Music and Music Technology and has set up both Music and Music Technology courses in a sixth form that went on to be graded as ‘Outstanding’.
He has also led projects and training on stretch and challenge, effective use of data and effective transition from GCSE Music to A Level. He has authored resources, revision and study guides for Music for a number of publishers, including CGP and Rhinegold Education, and was a founding TES Premium Author.
Over time, the site will expand to include free teaching and Music Technology articles, resources and revision, and also the opportunity to have ‘first look’ at new resources James is currently working on.
